New Delhi: Debt-laden telecom company Vodafone Idea said on Saturday that the company was evaluating how much it could pay back under adjusted gross income (AGR). However, the company said that the decision to continue business in India would depend on the result of a petition filed for amendment in the Supreme Court’s decision.

Vodafone Idea told BSE, “the company is currently evaluating the amount of arrears it can pay to the Department of Telecommunications based on AGR.” Vodafone Idea said, “The company offers to repay the assessed amount in the next few days.” Vodafone Idea Limited has a total liability of Rs 53,038 crore, of which Rs 24,729 crore is to be paid for spectrum usage charges, while it has to pay Rs 28,309 crore as license fee.

The company stated, “As stated in the company’s financial statements for the quarter ended 31 December 2019, the company’s ability to operate will inevitably depend on the positive impact of its application for amendment to the Supplementary Order. Get the result. The next hearing of the case is proposed on 17 March 2020.
