    Sensex rebounds 660.68 pts

    Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday jumped 660.69 pts to close at 48,544.06 following gains in Auto, Bankex, Finance and Realty stocks amid strong global peers.

    The Nifty too moved up by 194 pts to 14,504.80.

    Tumbling down by over 1700 pts on Monday, the Sensex opened on a positive note at 47,991.53, rising 108 pts. During the day it surged 744 pts to 48,627.43, days high before closing at 48,544.06, up 660.68 pts from its previous close.

    The Sensex registered days high and low at 48,627.43 and 47,775.42 pts respectively.

    The Nifty recorded days high and low at14,528.90 and 14,274.90 pts respectively.

    The sectoral indices include Auto, Metal, Bankex, Finance and Realty came forward to support the market.

    A star gainer was Auto stocks, rallied by more than 4 pc followed by Metal and Bankex by more than 3 pc. Even Realty too moved up by more than 2 per cent.
