Finance Desk – Truecaller, a company that helps identify who is calling you, has appointed Rishit Jhunjhunwala as its new boss. He will start his new job on January 9. Rishit has been working with Truecaller since 2015 and is currently in charge of the company’s products and operations in India.

This announcement comes as the company’s founders, Alan Mamedi and Nami Zarringhalam, plan to stop handling daily tasks by mid-2025 to focus more on big-picture strategies from their positions on the board.

Rishit has been important to Truecaller, starting as the head of products in 2015, becoming the chief product officer in 2020, and then managing the company’s business in India since 2021.

On the same day as this announcement, there were tax raids at Truecaller’s offices in India. The company said these raids were a surprise but they are working with the officials. Truecaller also mentioned that it is not being investigated for tax issues beyond regular checks, and it follows all tax rules correctly.
