New Delhi: Good shopping was seen in the domestic stock market today amid better global cues. Both the Sensex and Nifty indices remained strong in the business and closed with an increase at the end of trading. The Sensex opened at 51,381.27 points today in the beginning of trading. After this it reached 51,529.32 points. At the end of trading, it closed with a gain of 307 points at 51,422.88 compared to the previous trading day. Of the 30 stocks listed on the Sensex, 13 closed in green signal while the remaining 17 closed in red. Reliance and M&M were the top gainers on BSE. At the same time, Sun Pharma and Dr. Reddy’s are in the list of top losers.
The Nifty 50 opened at 15421.2 at the start of today’s trading and reached 15,469.65 points in the day’s trading. At the end of trading, it closed at 15,446.90 points, a rise of 109.05 points as compared to the previous trading day. Today 50 of the 50 stocks listed on the Nifty 50 were up. Metal stocks rose strongly in today’s business. Bank and financial shares also got support from the market. However, there was pressure on pharma stocks.
Reliance shares were the biggest buys on the Sensex in day trading today and closed at 2094.90 at the end of the day’s trading. Shares of M&M closed 2.13 per cent higher at Rs 846.20 after Reliance and HDFC Bank gained 1.47 per cent to close at Rs 1501.15.
Sensex was the biggest seller in SunPharma and closed at Rs 669.65, a decline of 4.3 per cent. After this, BAJAJFINSV lost 1.66 per cent to Rs 11686.20 and ICICI Bank lost 1.46 per cent to close at Rs 643.20.
