Mumbai: The impact of the fall in Asian markets was also visible on domestic indices today and BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened with gains, but by the end of the day’s trading the trend changed and both the indices closed with a fall.

The Sensex started trading today with an increase of 52,795.76 points and reached a height of 52,816.42 during trading. But in the evening it closed just above the day’s low. The Sensex fell to a low of 52,477.77 points today and closed at 52,549.66. On Tuesday, the Sensex lost 0.35 per cent or 185.93 points, while the Nifty closed at 15,748.45, down 0.42 per cent or 66.25 points.

Only 13 out of 30 Sensex stocks closed with gains today, the remaining 17 stocks fell. Only 14 stocks included in Nifty 50 closed with gains, 35 companies registered a decline while there was no change in 1 share. Talking about the sectoral index of Nifty, except Nifty FMCG and Nifty Pharma, other indices closed with a fall. In the shares of banks included in the Sensex, except IndusInd Bank, all other banking stocks were selling. However, once again the confidence of investors in Reliance returned and its shares closed with gains.

Among the companies included in the BSE Sensex, today the most buying was in the shares of PowerGrid. After this, HUL and NTPC were the biggest buyers. Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank and Tech Mahindra were the top sellers in the Sensex.
