    SBI Card supports Gurugram administration in fight against Covid-19

    Provides Ventilators, BiPAP machines, Test Kits and Ambulances for Gurugram residents~

    Gurugram: SBI Card, India’s second largest credit card issuer, has collaborated with Gurugram administration in its endeavor to safeguard Gurugram residents from Covid-19. The company has pledged over INR 2 crore to support the Gurugram administration by helping them with Ventilators, BiPAP machines, Test Kits and Ambulances for managing the Covid-19 situation. This collaboration is part of an ongoing national initiative by SBI Card, wherein the company is partnering with various administrations, NGOs and medical institutes under different healthcare and meal support programmes.

    The sudden outburst of the second wave left people and authorities helpless. With more than 4 Lac cases every day at one point of time, there was an immense shortage of medical equipment and support services. Also, as the 3rd Covid wave is expected in India, it becomes imperative to be future ready. To address this essentiality, SBI Card has partnered with the Gurugram administration by committing 12 Ventilators, 20 BiPAP machines, 30000 Test Kits and 2 Ambulances.

    Mr. Rama Mohan Rao Amara, MD & CEO, SBI Card said, “In these testing times, SBI Card is committed to support the community and the nation in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. We have always remained dedicated to helping the community against social and economic challenges, with healthcare being one of the key focus areas. We are pleased to join hands with the Gurugram administration to roll out this initiative. We hope that this contribution will aid the efforts being made by the Gurugram administration.”

    Sharing his thoughts Dr. Yash Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, said, “Pandemic has impacted lives, all around. While it is imperative for everyone to follow the well laid out guidelines and stay safe, it is equally important to have effective on-ground mechanism to support those affected, as also to gear up for the future. We are thankful to SBI Card for extending their support to augment our efforts.”

    SBI Card has been relentlessly working towards extending its support to fight the pandemic. It has pledged over INR 16.49 crore towards numerous projects, to support vulnerable sections of society against Covid 19. The initiatives range from spreading awareness to production and distribution of essential items for protection from COVID 19 in rural India, to providing food and COVID protection, to the underprivileged, elderly & differently-abled population, among others.
