Finance Desk – The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is having a three-day meeting from December 4 to December 6 to discuss India’s economy and decide on interest rates. This meeting is led by a group called the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), which has six members. They will look at various important topics like how much interest banks should charge, the rate of price increases (inflation), the economy’s growth, and oil prices worldwide.
On December 6, at 10:00 AM, after the meeting ends, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce their decisions. You can watch his announcement live on the RBI’s Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and YouTube channels.
These meetings happen six times a year where the RBI reviews and makes decisions about the economy. The last meeting was in October, and the next one will be in February. Governor Shaktikanta Das, who started his role in December 2018, might stay longer as there are talks about extending his term.
