    Nifty again beyond the 15 thousand level

    Trading was done on both BSE and NSE exchanges till 5 pm. Trading on the NSE was stopped at 11:40 am on NSE, the country’s largest stock exchange. Trading resumed at 03:45 on NSE and closed at 5 pm. The BSE Sensex gained 1030.28 points to close at 50781.69 and the Nifty gained 279.95 points to end at 14987.75 after the day’s trading closed. In the day-long trading today, the Nifty had once crossed the 15 thousand level and reached 15008.80.

    In today’s trade, 23 stocks of Sensex 30 gained. Axis Bank was the fastest growing. Axis Bank shares rose 5.23 percent. Coal India’s share price was the biggest gainer on Nifty 50. Coal India’s share price rose 4.75 percent.

    Trading on the BSE and the National Stock Exchange NSE took place till 5 pm on 24 February today. Trading on the NSE was halted in today’s trading day due to a technical flaw. The Nifty 50 was up 112.65 points from the previous trading day at 14,820.45 points, when it stopped updating. After this, business started at 03:45 on NSE and it continued till 5 pm.

    Talking about the top gainers on SENSEX, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank were the top gainers. Axis Bank’s share price rose 5.23 percent, while ICICI Bank’s share price rose 5.12 percent and ICICI Bank’s share price rose 4.10 percent. Powergrid (down 1.31 per cent), Dr Reddy (down 1.06 per cent) and TCS (down 0.96 per cent) were the top losers on the Sensex.

    Talking about Nifty, HDFC Bank, Coal India and Axis Bank were the top gainers. HDFC Bank gained 5.36 per cent, Coal India 5.26 per cent and Axis Bank 5.19 per cent. On the Nifty, UPL (down 2.37 percent), Powergrid (down 1.48 percent) and Dr. Reddy (down 1.45 percent) were the top losers.
