Mumbai: German airline Lufthansa has removed 103 flight attendants placed in India from service on demand for a ‘job guarantee’. The company gave him the option of going on leave without pay for two years. Sources connected with the case gave information about this.
Sources said that these workers were working on a fixed contract with the airline and some of them had been with the company for more than 15 years. A Lufthansa spokesperson said in a statement to PTI-language that due to the severe financial impact of the Corona virus epidemic there is no other option but for the airline to restructure. The company cannot extend service to Delhi-based flight attendants who are on fixed-term contracts. However, the spokesperson did not say how many employees had been fired.
According to the spokesperson, the services of many employees have not been affected as the company has been able to enter into separate agreements with them. “Lufthansa is sad to confirm that she is not extending the services of flight attendants in Delhi who were hired for a fixed period,” the statement said. The severe financial impact of the Corona virus epidemic has left Lufthansa with no choice but to restructure the airline. These measures include employees related to important international markets like India as well as in Germany and Europe. “
