New Delhi: Industrial production (IIP) has increased by 3.6 percent in October. The main reason for this has been the superior performance of the manufacturing and power generation sectors. This has been revealed from the official data released on Friday. According to Index of Industrial Production data, the manufacturing and power generation sectors have seen growth of 3.5 percent and 11.2 percent respectively.

At the same time, the mining sector has fallen by 1.5 percent during the month of October. Industrial production was down by 6.6 percent in October 2019.

Last month, after six months in the country’s industrial production, a positive trend was seen during the month of September. Due to the better performance of the mining and power generation sectors, the industrial production index in September was marginally correct but increased by 0.2 percent. According to the figures of the Industrial Production Index (IIP), the manufacturing sector saw a decline of 0.6 percent during the month of September.
