Finance Desk – Paying advance tax is an important responsibility for individuals and businesses with significant income. It ensures that you stay compliant with the tax regulations and avoid penalties.

If you have paid advance tax and want to check the status or the amount paid, this guide will walk you through the steps.

Steps to Check Advance Tax Paid

    • Go to the official e-Filing portal of the Income Tax Department of India.
    • Use your User ID (usually your PAN) and password to log in.
    • Once logged in, you will be directed to the dashboard.
    • Here, you can see various options related to your income tax.
    • Click on ‘My Account’ in the menu.
    • Select ‘View Form 26AS (Tax Credit)’ from the drop-down list.
    • Confirm the redirect and proceed to view your Form 26AS.
    • Choose the relevant assessment year for which you want to check the advance tax payment.

In Form 26AS, navigate to the ‘Part C’ section which shows the details of the advance tax and self-assessment tax paid.
