The world’s largest corona vaccination program has started in India from 16 January and any person above the age of 18 years can get its dose. To encourage more and more people about vaccination, some government banks are offering special offers to the people. Under this offer, people will get interest at higher rates on deposits, although interest at higher rates will be available only for a limited period. UCO Bank is offering 30 basis points (0.30 per cent) higher rate of interest on Fixed Deposits (FDs) on 999 days FDs to those who have got at least one dose of Corona Vaccine.

According to a bank official, UCO Bank is offering UCOVAXI-999 to encourage people towards the Corona Vaccination Drive. This offer is available for a limited period till 30th September only.

Before UCO Bank, another government bank has launched such an offer. The Central Bank of India recently launched the Immune India Deposit Scheme, under which those who have taken the vaccine dose get 25 basis points (0.25 per cent) interest rate higher than applicable card rates. Its maturity is 1111 days.
