New Delhi: Twitter India has launched a new voice message feature in direct messages (DMs) on social media platforms. Users can now send Voice DM, which should be 140 seconds long. This feature has been made available for both Android and iOS users. Currently, the new feature is being launched in select countries, including India, Brazil and Japan.

On the new feature, Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director of Twitter India said that India is a priority country for Twitter and hence they are constantly testing new features and learning from the experience of people on the service. They are eager to bring voice messages to DMs in the country, so that people can find a new way of expressing themselves and help them connect through emotions by listening to the voice of a person.

Android users can send voice messages to existing or new chats by tapping on the voice recording icon. Once the audio message is over, they have to be tapped on the icon and send it again. On the other hand, iOS users also have the option to press and hold and record the message. After this, he has to swipe and release to send.
