    Sensex touched fifty-two thousand for the first time

    Nifty 50 and Sensex opened with gains on the first trading day of June. Shortly after the market opened, Nifty was seen trading at 15600 and Sensex crossing 52 thousand. But by the end of trading, both the indices closed with a slight decline. The Sensex opened at 52,067.51 and reached 52,228.65. But the initial gains did not last through the day and on Tuesday, the Sensex finally closed at 51,934.88, down 2.56 points.

    13 stocks in the Sensex ended with a gain and the remaining 17 ended with a fall. Auto sector stocks declined today, while banking stocks were mixed. Talking about the Nifty, today it was shown to trade above 15600 at the beginning of trading. But till the close of business, it closed down 7.95 points at 15,574.85. 19 stocks of Nifty rose and 31 declined.

    ONGC was the biggest buy in the BSE Sensex shares. ONGC closed at Rs 117.65 with a gain of 3.52 per cent. After ONGC, Bajaj Finance gained 2.93 per cent to Rs 5786.10 and SBIN gained 1.97 per cent to close at Rs 432.60.

    By the time of closing of business, ICICI Bank saw the biggest fall today. ICICI Bank closed at Rs 650.25, down 1.80 per cent. After this, shares of Ultra Cement fell by 1.63 per cent to close at Rs 6600.75 and Asian Paint by 1.51 per cent at Rs 2933.15.
