    Sensex touched 53 thousand mark

    The stock market slipped by reaching a new peak

    Mumbai: The Sensex touched an all-time high of 53,057.11 in early trading today. But in the second off of the day, the selling pressure in the market showed increasing and the market lost all its gains. The market closed flat amid volatility at the end of trading.

    The Sensex closed at 52588.71 with a gain of 14.25 points or 0.03 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at the level of 15772.80 with a gain of 26.30 points or 0.17 percent.

    BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex rose 14.25 points to 52588.71 points. During this, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 26.30 points to 15772.80. Small and medium companies outperformed the giants, with BSE midcap up 0.33 per cent to 22493.26 points and small cap up 0.83 per cent to 25060.31 points.

    Most of the BSC groups were marginally higher, including Capital Goods 1.98 per cent, Power 1.17 per cent, Industrial 1.35 per cent, IT 0.71 per cent and Tech 0.61 per cent. The groups in decline included realty 0.75 per cent, banking 0.32 per cent and finance 0.11.

    Internationally, friends were seen in the stock market, where Japan’s Nikkei rose 3.12 percent and Britain’s FTSE 0.29 percent and China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.82 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.63 percent and Germany’s DEX fell 0.09 percent.
