    Sensex falls by 110 points

    Sensex skids for 3rd day as bank, finance stocks tumble

    Stock markets closed with a fall on Friday. The Sensex lost 110.02 points to close at 44,149.72 and the Nifty fell marginally by 18.05 points to close at 12,968.95. Asian Sense shares gained the most by 2.85 per cent on the Sensex, while Titan’s stock rose more than 2 per cent. On the other hand, ONGC and HCL Technologies lost more than 2 per cent.

    The Sensex touched a high of 44,407.28 and a low of 43,995.41 in the day’s trade. Barring IT stocks, all other sectoral indices on the Nifty closed in green. Tata Motors, Asian Paint, Hero MotoCorp Top Gainers and Nestle India, Power Grid, JW Steel top losers were on the Nifty.

    The stock market opened up on Friday. The BSE Sensex opened at 44,305.55 with a strength of 45.8 points and the NSE Nifty opened at 13012 with a gain of 25.05 points. NTPC shares are currently the biggest gainer of 2.66 percent on the Sensex. At the same time, all sectoral indices in Nifty are in green mark. Talking about global markets, the US market has closed in the red mark and the European market in the green mark. There is a mixed trend of decline and fast in Asian markets.

    On Wednesday, stock markets were seen fluctuating throughout the day amid mixed global signals. The market started strongly, but later sold. On Wednesday, the Sensex gained 432 points to 44,259.74 and the Nifty gained 129 points to close at 12987. Tata Steel and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers while Maruti and ONGC were the top losers.
