SBI General Insurance, a big company that helps people with health insurance, has stopped offering a special low-cost plan called Arogya Plus. This plan was nice because it didn’t cost a lot of money and it was the same price for everyone, no matter how old they are or how many people are in their family. But now, the company says you can’t buy this plan anymore or renew it if you already have it.

    What Was Arogya Plus?

Arogya Plus was a special kind of health insurance that was easy to get and didn’t cost too much. It was good for one person or a whole family and didn’t have extra costs for things like staying in the hospital. People liked it because it made getting health insurance easier and cheaper.

Why Can’t You Get Arogya Plus Anymore?

The company stopped offering Arogya Plus suddenly, and some people are worried that it might not have followed all the rules. Normally, if a company wants to stop offering a plan like this, they need to ask permission from a group called the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and tell everyone who has the plan 90 days before stopping it. Some experts are saying this didn’t happen the way it should have.

SBI General Insurance is Still Growing

Even though Arogya Plus is going away, SBI General Insurance is doing really well. In December 2023, they made a lot of money and helped a lot more people with insurance than before. They have lots of different insurance plans and work all over the country, so they’re a big part of the insurance market in India.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you had the Arogya Plus plan, you’ll need to look at other options now. It might seem a bit tricky, but there are still lots of choices for health insurance out there. SBI General Insurance is changing some things, but they’re still a big company with many ways to help you stay covered.
