Big changes are coming to SBI credit cards in April 2024, especially about earning points when you pay your rent with the card. This article breaks down what’s happening, how you can still use your points, and what else is changing with SBI and other bank cards.

What’s New with SBI Credit Cards?

From April 2024, you won’t get reward points for rent payments with certain SBI credit cards. This change affects many cards, like the SBI Card Elite, SimplySAVE SBI Card, and more. Another set of changes will start on April 15, affecting cards linked to airlines and some special brands.

How to Use Your SBI Card Points

Even with these changes, you can still use your points easily:

    • Log in to SBI Card’s website.
    • Go to Rewards, then Redeem Rewards.
    • Look through the catalog and pick what you want.
    • Click Redeem now to get your reward.

This way, you won’t waste the points you’ve already earned.

    Changes with Other Banks Too

It’s not just SBI making changes. For example, Axis Bank has added a new fee for rent payments, and ICICI Bank changed how you get free access to airport lounges. They now require you to spend a certain amount before getting this perk.

SBI is also making it easier to figure out how much you need to pay each month. They’ve updated how they calculate the minimum amount due on your card, starting in March 2024.
