    Nifty settles across 14 thousand for the first time

    The stock market has been booming amid strong domestic and global signals. After the fall of last week, the market got a great recovery on 1 March.

    2021 is welcomed in the stock market in a good mood. During the trading on Friday, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index Sensex set a new record of 47978. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty also touched the 14050 level. At the end of the trade, the Sensex gained 118 points to close at 47,868.98. At the same time, the Nifty closed at 14,018.50 with a gain of 37 points over 14 thousand for the first time. ITC and TCS were the biggest gainers in the Sensex by over 2 per cent.

    The market also started on a positive note amid better global cues. Good auto sales figures also thrived in the market. At the same time, support was also seen from the pharma sector.

    Shares of 21 Sensex 30 companies saw a spurt in Friday’s trading. The list of top gainers included M&M, ITC, SBI, TCS, Airtel, Dr. Reddy’s, Bajaj Auto, L&T and Sun Pharma. The top losers included ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Titan, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance NTPC, PowerGrid and HUL and Kotak Bank.

    All 9 indices, except 3 in the major 12 sectoral indices on the Nifty, closed in the green mark in Friday’s trade. PSU Bank recorded the maximum increase of 3.25 percent. Auto index, IT, FMCG, pharma, metal, realty index also closed with gains. Nifty Bank, Financial Services and Private Bank Index closed in red mark.
