    In the G20 meeting, Sitharaman stressed on increasing global risk monitoring

    New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday stressed on increasing global risk monitoring and said that there is a need to explore the possibilities of policy coordination to tackle these risks.

    Sitharaman, addressing a meeting of Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks of G20 countries in Riyadh, called on all member states to step up efforts to empower women, youth and small and medium enterprises. “The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked the G20 countries to increase global risk monitoring and explore policy coordination to tackle such global risks,” the Finance Ministry said on Twitter.

    Sitharaman was the keynote speaker for a session at this meeting of G20. The theme of the said session was ‘increasing availability of opportunities for all’. For the first time any Arab country has got the chance to preside over the G20. The ministry said, “Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized that increasing inequality has reduced the pace of improvement in the situation of new generations globally.

    She said that there is a need to develop a co-ordinated policy solution to identify the causes of the problem and find remedies for its redressal. Mentioned. He also mentioned the Mudra Yojana, in which small and medium enterprises are given loans without collateral.

    Sitharaman also held bilateral meetings with finance ministers of other countries. He also discussed separately with some officials of the developed countries forum OECD. He expressed sympathy with the people of China affected by Coronavirus and said that India is ready to help China in this hour. China has not sent a minister or central bank governor to this meeting. The Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia is representing his country at this meeting.
