New Delhi: India’s first bullet train project is set to be delayed by around five years, stuck as it is on multiple fronts – from low participation by Japanese companies to tenders being cancelled because of steep rates quoted by bidders.

According to the report of an English newspaper, the railway is now assuming that this project can now be completed by October 2028. It was to be completed by December of 2023 as per earlier schedule.
According to the report, the National High Speed Rail Corporation has acquired 63 percent of the land for the project which includes about 77 percent of the land in Gujarat, 80 percent in Dadar Nagar Haveli and 22 percent in Maharashtra.
