Finance Desk – Commodity trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will start one hour later than usual today. This delay is due to technical issues that affected the end-of-day processes.

An official statement on the MCX website said, “The End-of-day processes for yesterday’s trade date have been delayed due to some technical issues and hence the special session will start at 09:45 am and market will start at 10:00 am today.”

MCX operates its regular trading sessions from Monday to Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 11:30 p.m. The trading hours are split into a morning session that ends at 5 p.m., followed by an evening session that continues until the close.

While agricultural commodities are only traded in the futures market until 5 p.m., trading in metals, bullions, and energy products extends until the late evening closing time.

The announcement comes after MCX shares fell by 0.7%. Despite this recent dip, MCX shares have seen a substantial increase of 25% in value since the start of 2024.
