New Delhi: On the Corona virus epidemic crisis, former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan has said that India needs to find a new way to get out of it and speed up the economy. In an interview to The Economic Times, Rajan spoke of slowly starting economic activities to save lives as well as livelihoods.
Rajan said that the period after the Corona virus epidemic should not be one of financial instability and fiscal crisis, as it was when the Corona crisis began. He stressed that this would require significant reforms and how we maintain political consensus on these reforms will be the basic question. Rajan warned that if these reforms were not done, India would move in a very ineffective manner and it would not be good for a country with a very young population.
