    GEM-SIDBI drafted for the advancement of MSMEs, start-ups and women entrepreneurs

    New Delhi. Government e-marketplace of Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the benefit of micro, small and medium industries, women entrepreneurs, self-help groups, women self-help groups, various loan beneficiaries under ‘Mudra’ and ‘Stand-up India’ scheme (GEM) signed an MoU with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). The MoU was signed in New Delhi yesterday. The agreement will encourage GEM’s special initiatives such as ‘Womaniya’ and start-up runways in collaboration with SIDBI stakeholders.

    Speaking on the occasion, TEMLIN KUM, CEO of GEM said that partnership with financial institutions like SIDBI is very important, as it will benefit MSMEs, micro enterprises, start-ups, artisans. Craftsmen will now be able to sell through free, transparent and technology-based forums. The objective of GEM is to facilitate e-payment to these vendors. Working capital will also be available through this facility. Initially this facility will be available from public sector banks. This move will lead to rapid development in MSMEs and start-ups.

    #SIDBI_Chairman and Director General Mohammad Mustafa appreciated the efforts of #GEM and said that GEM is strengthening the system of existing MSMEs by joining self-help groups, women entrepreneurs, artisans, non-government organisations, start-ups and other sectors. He said the agreement would enable GEM to run personnel training programs of partner agencies.
