New Delhi: Within one year, charging facilities for electric vehicles will be available every four kilometers in major cities. Sources said that people are worried about charging for these vehicles. To overcome this difficulty, government companies have been approved to install 2,600 charging stations.
He said that the government has given in-principle approval to companies like NTPC, EESL and REIL. However, the government companies will get the actual contract only when they sign the Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) for the land which will be charging station. According to sources, this condition will ensure the seriousness of the charging infrastructure of companies.
The government-owned Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) have received a major part of the order to set up 2,600 e-vehicle charging stations in more than 62 cities of the country. NTPC and Power Grid Corp have also emerged as low bidding companies for charging stations.
