New Delhi: The Confederation of Indian Industry and Commerce Organization of India (CII) on Sunday suggested that various areas should be opened gradually in a phased manner depending on the intensity of corona virus infection in their area.
The organization said that based on the number of cases of infection in an area, it can be classified into red, yellow or green areas. According to a CII report, besides e-commerce, vehicles and chemicals, textile and apparel, medicine, food processing, minerals and metals are the major sectors in which there is a need to start operations gradually.
In a statement, the organization said that before removing the lockdown, everyone should be given sufficient information and an economic package should also be announced. CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said, “Corona virus infection cases have increased rapidly in the country during the last few days and many hotspot areas have come up. In such a situation, industries need to be opened slowly. For this, different areas can be classified into three areas, red, yellow and green depending on the cases of infection there. “
He said, the more complicated issue is whether all the industries can be opened in green areas, which industries can be opened in yellow areas and none can be opened except those required in red areas. Whichever is opened, it should be ensured that there is proper system of health and medicine, cleanliness and investigation to protect the workers.
