    Budget effect: Sensex zooms 2314.84 pts

    The stock market has been booming amid strong domestic and global signals. After the fall of last week, the market got a great recovery on 1 March.

    Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday posted massive gains of 2314.84 pts to end strong at 48,600.61 pts as investors gave thumbs up to the Union Budget presented in Parliament by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

    The Nifty too rallied by 646.60 pts to 14,281.20.

    The day opened on a positive note at 46,617.95, up by 332 pts. After budget, it was soar nearly 2479 pts to 48,764.40, days high before closing at 48,600.61, advancing by 2314.84 pts from its previous close.

    The Sensex registered days high and low at 48,764.40 and 46,433.65 pts respectively.

    The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,336.35 and 13,661.75 pts respectively.

    Announcing her third Union Budget, the Finance Minister introduces various reforms in financial sectors.

    The sectoral indices that sparkled were Bankex stocks by more than 8 per cent, followed by Finance by more than 7 per cent, Realty by more than 6 per cent, Capital Gains by more than 5 per cent and Metal by four per cent.

    In scrips, a major gainer was IndusInd Bank by 14.75 pc, followed by ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, SBI and L& T stocks.

    Progressive steps such as IPO of LIC, disinvestment to continue, opening up of insurance sector to FDI.
