New Delhi: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has canceled the tender issued for 4G upgradation. It did so after the DoT refused to use Chinese telecom equipment. A source close to the development said that a new tender will be issued in this regard, in which the emphasis will be on prioritizing ‘Make in India’ products.
The government had asked the public sector BSNL not to use Chinese equipment for 4G upgradation. Following this direct instruction means that the company will have to issue a new tender.
Here, the railway has also canceled the tender to buy the thermal camera. This step has been taken after feedback from various vendors. He said that Chinese companies would benefit from the things sought for the purchase of equipment. Rail Tail, a railway undertaking, last month issued a tender for 800 artificial intelligence based surveillance cameras.
