New Delhi: Public sector engineering company Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) ‘s consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 2019 of the current financial year was down 17 per cent to Rs 161.81 crore.
The company’s profits have come down due to declining income. This earned the company a net profit of Rs 196.43 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
In a communication sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said that its total income declined to Rs 5,827.74 crore during the quarter, from Rs 7,563.51 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
The consolidated net profit of the company declined to Rs 63.83 crore in the nine-month period of April-December of the current financial year, from Rs 321.64 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
The company made a profit of Rs 1,009.16 crore in the financial year 2018-19. The stock rose 0.78 per cent to Rs 38.55 per share in the Bombay Stock Exchange.
