American giant e-commerce company Amazon is preparing to enter the food delivery market in the Indian market soon. According to a report by TechCrunch, Amazon may enter the business early next month. The company has also started testing it with select restaurants in Bangalore. The company has been working on the food delivery market for the past several quarters. It was earlier planned to launch during Diwali.
This report states that the company will directly compete with Swiggy-Jomato in the food delivery market. At the same time, UberEats bid farewell to the Indian online food delivery market. Uber has sold its food delivery business to Zomato. Amazon is entering this business at a time when Swiggy and Zomato have reduced customer discounts.
The company has resorted to its 2-hour delivery delivery chain to provide food delivery service. Amazon has invested a large amount in setting up this supply chain.
In a statement released by the company, it said that we believe in innovating on behalf of our customers. As a result of this commitment, we are constantly looking for new areas and opportunities to connect and serve our customers.
