E-commerce company Amazon on Tuesday said that it is opening a sort center in the country and is expanding eight such facilities to strengthen its capacity before the festive season. The statement said that the new five sort centers will be launched in Visakhapatnam, Farukhnagar, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. After this it is written that in addition to these new buildings, Amazon India will also expand the existing eight sort centers, which will increase its total sorting area to more than 2.2 million in 19 states.
The company said in a statement that with this expansion, Amazon India will increase its delivery speed and connectivity for its customers and vendors before the festive season in India.
Amazon’s sort center customers’ packages are separated before sending them to the delivery station. Sortation depends on the location and the mode of transport of customers. By taking advantage of these sort centers technology and automation center, a key part of Amazon’s logistics network, it increases the speed of transport of packages for customers and vendors in the country.
