New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today amid Corona crisis and escalation with China on the border. At the beginning of his address, the Prime Minister told the countrymen that while fighting against the Corona global pandemic, we are now entering Unlock-2. With this, we are also entering the season in which cold, cough, fever etc. are increased. I pray you all to take care of yourself in such times. If we compare deaths from corona, we are in a stable state.

The PM said, ‘Today I am going to make an important announcement related to this. During our rainy season, more work is done mainly in the agricultural sector. Now see the festival starts as soon as the month of Savan. This time of festivals also increases the need and also increases the expenditure. We have now decided that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will now be extended till Diwali and Chhath Puja i.e. the end of November.

During these five months, 80 cr people will be given 5 kg wheat or 5 kg rice free by the government. Apart from this, one kg of gram will also be given free to each family. 90 thousand crore rupees will be spent in this scheme. If you add the expenses for the last three months, then it becomes Rs 1.50 lakh crore.
