New Delhi: Morgan Stanley has said that digitization will increase in India due to Covid-19 epidemic and more people will buy online. Also, Morgan Stelney credited Reliance Jio’s 4G telecom services for increasing internet usage in the country and accelerating the digital economy.
Morgan Stelney said in a 53-page report titled ‘India’s Digital Economy in a Post Covid-19 World’ that it is very likely that online penetration in the grocery business will increase and many super apps will accelerate this process. In India, 30 percent of people using the Internet shop online, compared to 78 percent in China and 70 percent in the United States.
Morgan Stanley has predicted that India’s 67 crore Internet users will grow to 91.4 crore by 2027 and the number of online shoppers will increase from 19 million to 59 million. Average spending per user during online shopping is also estimated to double to $ 318.
