New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the 44th Civil Accounts Day event today. The event has been organized by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA).

In his address, she said that today Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are being discussed all over the world. She said that these two are like a silent revolution in democracy.

The game of middlemen came to an end due to direct benefit transfer and the government as well as the public has benefited immensely.

She said that with the help of technology, the country has benefited by Rs 1 lakh crore. This clearly shows that with the help of technology, corruption and wrongdoings can be easily prevented.
