Meerut : Shobhit University, Meerut, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIIT Foundation to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and expand employability-focused skilling for students.

“Sustainable transformation is built on access, which means access to relevant skills, to opportunity, and to an ecosystem that enables individuals to realise their potential. At NIIT Foundation, our endeavour is not merely to prepare individuals for employment, but to create pathways that enable long-term mobility, resilience, and inclusive growth. When opportunity is made accessible in this way, its impact extends far beyond the individual, shaping families, communities, and future generations”, said Charu Kapoor, Country Director, NIIT Foundation.

Prof. V.K. Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor, Shobhit University commented, “The true measure of education lies in its ability to translate knowledge into meaningful opportunity. By integrating academic learning with industry-relevant skills, we enable our students to navigate a dynamic world with competence, confidence, and purpose”.

The partnership will deliver a variety of short-duration, certification-based programmes in hybrid mode, including Cyber Awareness AI Basic (2 hours), Cyber Awareness AI Prime (8 hours), Cyber Smart AI Prime (30 hours), Professional Edge (60 hours), and AI Essential: Awareness for the Digital Age (2 hours). These courses are designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills and will offer e-certifications upon completion.

The initiative is expected to benefit over 3,000 students annually across all years and disciplines. Training will be delivered by NIIT Foundation’s trainers through a hybrid model combining online learning with instructor-led sessions. Students will also gain access to virtual internship opportunities, alongside placement support for eligible candidates. The first batch of over 100 students commenced training on April 27, 2026, with a Cyber Security Awareness programme, marking the rollout of the collaboration.

The MoU builds on a shared commitment to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through structured skilling, industry exposure, and collaborative initiatives.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. V.K. Tyagi, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Jayanand, Registrar Prof. Ganesh Bharadwaj, Dean Academics Prof. Ashok Kumar, Director NICE-SBS Prof. Vikas Gupta, Director Outreach, Dr. Neha Vashistha, Dr. Preeti Garg, Associate Professor, NICE School of Business Studies, was present on the occasion. The university had the honour of hosting a distinguished delegation from NIIT Foundation, comprising Mr. Nilesh Khanna (Regional Manager), Ms. Nancy David (Senior Executive, Partnerships), Mr. Mayank Jagota (Senior Trainer), and Mr. Anmol (Student Engagement Officer).
