    Stock market slips from new peak

    Mumbai: The major stock exchanges BSE Sensex and Nifty50 closed with a fall at the close of trading today on June 8. During trading today, the Sensex opened at 52,428.72 points and reached 52,432.43 points. At the close of trading in the Sensex, it closed at 52,275.57, down 0.10 percent or 52.94 points. Today 14 stocks were buying on the Sensex and they closed with gains while 16 stocks closed with a fall. Banking stocks fell on the Sensex. Selling in financials and metals led to pressure, while IT, FMCG and pharma stocks supported the market.

    Talking about Nifty 50, it closed at 15,740.10, down 0.07 percent or 11.55 points. On Nifty, 27 stocks including Tata Motors, TechM and Bharti Airtel closed with gains, while 22 stocks closed down and there was no change in the price of 1 stock. Talking about Sectoral Indices, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Pharma closed with a decline.

    In today’s trading day on the BSE Sensex, the most buying was seen in the shares of TechM. TechM closed at Rs 1058.55 with a gain of 2.53 per cent. After TechM, Bharti Airtel and HCL Tech were the biggest buyers. Bharti Airtel gained 1.91 per cent to Rs 546.80 and HCLTech gained 1.83 per cent to close at Rs 967.05.
