Every year in the month of November, all pensioners – be a government employee, ex-serviceman or a beneficiary of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), a subscriber of pension schemes of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) or other organisations are required to submit life certificate to ensure that they keep getting pension.
Thus, for elderly people who are not keeping well and are finding it difficult to visit the bank / post office / organisation in which they have pension accounts, here is a huge relief.
As the government has introduced Digital Life Certificates (DLC) for such people in the midst of coronavirus pandemic.
The coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult for aged people as they are told to stay home to stay safe from the virus.
But the submission of Life Certificate gets difficult and thus, DLC has become a easier mode of getting the Jeevan Praman.
India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has started the doorstep DLC service, the following documents needs to be there with the elderly people such as Pension ID, Pension Payment Order, Pension Disbursing Department, Bank Account details, Mobile No., Aadhaar Number.
