New Delhi: Along with expensive oil, now the burden of inflation of LPG has also increased on the common people. Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) on Thursday, July 1. The price of domestic LPG cylinders has been increased by Rs 25.50 per cylinder today and after this hike, domestic cylinders of 14.2 kg in the capital Delhi will cost Rs 834.50. According to the information, not only 14.2 kg, but 19 kg cylinders will also have to pay a higher price as their prices have been increased by Rs 76. That is, for a cylinder of 19 kg, now Rs 1550 will have to be paid in Delhi. In the last seven years, the cost of LPG refill has doubled.
It can be gauged from the extent to which the common people have been hit by the inflation of domestic gas, that the prices of LPG have doubled in the last seven years. The cost of LPG refill was Rs 410.50 on 1st March 2014, which has now increased to Rs 834.50 as on 1st July 2021, which is more than double. At the beginning of this year, the price of refilling an LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 694 i.e. this year it has become costlier by Rs 140.50 to refill LPG cylinder.
