New Delhi: Around 8 crore traders in India have lost business worth Rs 6.25 lakh crore during April due to several Covid sanctions imposed by the state government, including lockdown, curfew, etc. In a statement, the Confederation of All India Traders, the main organization for traders, has taken data from more than 40 thousand associations representing 8 crore traders under them. CAIT said that the total loss of business due to Corona epidemic in the country for the month of April is about 6.25 lakh crore rupees. The government has lost a total revenue of 75 thousand crore rupees.

According to CAIT National President RC Bhartia and Secretary General Pravin Khandelwal, out of the total business loss of Rs 6.25 lakh crore, the retail business is estimated to have a loss of about Rs 4.25 lakh crore, while the wholesale business suffered a loss of around Rs 2 lakh crore. CAIT said that certainly not only the figures for loss of business are high, but they talk about the great destruction of business, but the number of deaths due to Covid also cannot be ignored.

The Confederation, in a communication sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, appealed for a nationwide lockdown to control the epidemic. It has prayed to set up a pediatrician task force to deal with the third wave, in which children can also be infected.
